Aloha Friday #11

"In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response."

My question is:

What was your first job? What did you do? Did you like it?

My answer

I worked at a restaurant called Francesco's that was an italian restaurant. I started out just cleaning tables and then later on I became a hostess. I worked there for almost a year. I didn't mind the job at the time, but I wouldn't do it again. I especially wouldn't clean the tables again!

  3. I worked as a cashier in a grocery store. I was really shocked at how many (much) older men thought my working there was a license to try to hit on me. Not to mention the fact that I was on 16!Other than that, I really liked my job!

  11. technically I guess my first job was babysitting. I started that in my neighborhood when I was 15! My first job I paid taxes on was being a camp counsler for Mountain TOP in Tennessee. I loved it, and even with the lack of sleep, would totally do it again! Happy Friday!

  15. I worked as a dishwasher at a restaurant called the Yankee Pot Roast.

My friends dad owned the place.

Eventually I got to work out on the floor - which meant wearing a prairie girl uniform.

    Good times. Good times. :)

  16. Looks like LOTs of us did restaurant work, but besides babysitting, my very first REAL job was trudging down rows of corn in mud-caked shoes or boots that added another 10 lbs to each foot, and DETASSELed corn at a place called Trelay Farms. I know most people wouldn't know that even HAD to be done. It was mostly high school kids and a few teachers that did the supervisor jobs so it was SORT of fun hanging out with friends and (Ok , I admit it) even a couple teachers who were pretty cool OUT of school. We would get TOTALLy sunburned (now paying for it in bad skin) dehydrated, filthy dirty and sneezed our brains out. We'd sleep like logs! BUT, I had great money for school clothes and family gifts when done! We got paid minimum wage which probably was around 3.50 an hour then...but I felt rich and learned a LOT!
