It's another Friday already so that means it's time for Aloha Friday!
From An Island Life
"In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response."
My Question
When you were in high school, did you have a car you drove? What kind of car did you have? I know in my high school days some had new cars, some had older cars, and some just didn't have a car!
My Answer
I was the one that didn't have a car! My brother's always had one, but for some reason since I was the youngest I didn't luck out with a car!
I drove my dad's car to school (but I picked him up from the train station every evening).

I only dated guys with cars! ;) So, didn't need one...
ReplyDeleteNo didn't have a car I had to wait til I graduated then my mommy got me a car
ReplyDeleteI didn't have a car. 2 weeks after I got my license, I wrecked my parent's car and they didn't let me drive again until my senior year. Then I went off to a college that didn't allow cars on campus. So I didn't get a car until I got married.
ReplyDeleteI rode the bus all four years.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have my own car in high school. I was allowed to drive my mom's car, a Toyota Camry. I didn't get my own car until I was married.
ReplyDeleteI had a few cars. My dad always bought used ones from people who were sellin' them on their lawns. One had a hole in the gas tank that we didn't find out until after I drove it around.

I did not have a car. My daughter earned enough money to buy herself one.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Friday.

I had an 1977 orange Volkswagen Rabbit. I loved that little car. I had to drive my little brother everywhere, though.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have my own car until college. It was a purple Ford Probe and I loved it!

My Dad tried to teach me, but for some reason I couldn't get the hang of it.
I'm visiting you cause your my bloggy buddy and because it's Friday Follow.

I had a camaro z-28 that was brand new!! I was very blessed!!!Aloha
ReplyDeleteWHen I turned 16 I got an 86 Chevy Celebrity for $300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I was a Junior I got a 98 Grand Am GT. LOVED it! Had it until 2008.
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, I had an awful car it was a hatchback Pontiac T1000 my parents paid a grand total of $100 for and my dad had to fix to get it running in the first place (if you know what a Chevette looks like, it's very similar), I don't remember the year, it was something like 1984. I was breaking down all the time in high school and college (I finally had an accident when I was in grad school and wrecked the car & once I got over the shock of the accident was happy to see the last of it!). I remember it was red and had absolutely no acceleration. Luckily, the land around my hometown is fairly flat, but when I went away to college, there were lots of hills in the area, and driving uphill in that car was downright terrifying, I was afraid I'd roll backwards!
ReplyDeleteI never had my own car...my mom only had one she had to use for work. A couple of friends had BEATER cars that we rode to our High school to...it was a school built in the middle of 5 surrounding towns, so our rides were a bit far and full of fun. THE best car by FAR was a HUGE boat of a car we called Big BEV . We actually had to TALK to her many days to encourage her to run! And many an adventure happened in those crappy cars. NOthing bad...just "adventurous"!
ReplyDeleteI also had a steady boyfriend who I dated all through high school and he took me everywhere of course...I wrecked the car on the way to tech college one day as a semi jack knifed. messed my back up good, and was a bad omen.I married him and my husband turned out to be a WRECK too and left HIM in the "hubby junkyard" too. GUYS...he was SOOOoooobad. He belonged there then and still now!
FUn to reminisce about old cars and all that fun!!
