The Pocket Therapist Book Review + Giveaway (3 Winners)

The Pocket Therapist
An Emotional Survival Kit
by Therese Borchard
Hardcover
224 pages

I'm guessing that you are too broke or busy to go to therapy. Or maybe you do see a shrink, but it's never enough. You wish you had some emotional Cliffs Notes to carry with you in case something really bad happens... because you know it's coming... eventually.

Why keep dreading the unknown alone when The Pocket Therapist is here to help?

About The Pocket Therapist

Whenever Therese Borchard was weathering a personal storm, and help was nowhere to be found, her one guiding light was the question, "What would a therapist say?" The result was a sort of therapy scrapbook for rough days--a quick reference for anyone who needs a dose of encouragement, support and tried and true ways to cope.

THE POCKET THERAPIST is a compact and accessible guide filled with techniques and advice to help combat everything from addictive behavior to negative thinking.

My Review

I loved this book because it was a great reminder of some things I already know, but at times I forget to put those things to use in my everday life. I also learned some new tips that were great to learn!

This book was a great read and very easy to read! I started reading this book one late night and I couldn't put the book down. I got to page 85 that night without any interruptions. If I didn't need any sleep I would have kept reading and reading this book! This shows you that it's easy to read and it has so much great information that you won't want to stop reading this book!!

This book has 144 short sections in this book that have great tips in each one. They are short sections and most are only one page. Some of the sections in the book are titled:

Give back
Don't waste fourteen good days
Think short term
First forgive
Don't go to a hardware store for tomatoes
Keep a success log
Squeeze in some downtime
Find someone with bigger problems

This book is literally a pocket book like the name! Take it along with you while you are waiting at a doctor's office, waiting to pick kid's up from school, or etc. It's great because you can fit it into your purse to have it ready to read!

I definitely recommend this book to you!

  78. I actually just read about this book somewhere, and thought it looked really good! I would love to have a copy not only to benefit from it myself, but also to have some good answer or illustrative story when my friends come crying to me with a problem. I seem to be the one people come to when they need a good ear and a shoulder, which is great, but I don't always have a good answer for them. Maybe *The Pocket Therapist* will! :D
