Slow Cooker Chicken and Stuffing

2 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 cup butter or margerine
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 can (4 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained
1/4 cup Parsley
2 Tablespoons minced onion
1 1/2 teaspoons sage
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sweet basil
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
12 cups day old bread cubes or unseasoned bread cubes of stuffing
2 eggs
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
5 cups cooked, chopped chicken or turkey

Prep Time: 25 minutes
Cook time: 5 hours
Makes 8-10 servings

Directions: Combine brother, butter, celery, mushrooms, and spices in a large saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Place bread cubes in a large bowl. Combine eggs, soup, and chicken. Stir into broth mixture until smooth. Pour over bread and mix well. Place mixture in a greased 5-quart slow cooker. Cover with lid.

Cook on LOW for 5 hours.

Stuffing can also be placed in a greased, covered casserole dish and baked at 275 for 3 hours.

We really enjoyed this recipe. We didn't use day old bread in the recipe so it was kind of mushy. Make sure you use day old bread! This recipe was very good though and it would have been much better if we followed the recipe using day old bread!

I encourage you to try this great recipe out! I'd love to hear of your stories of hope and survival so please post below!

Happy Baking!

I received ACH brand products and a gift card for posting this recipe. I am also entered into a giveaway for doing so.
